ShopNBC.com`s third-quarter sales climb 29% year-over-year
Sales at ShopNBC.com rose 29% year-over-year to $44.37 million for the third quarter ended Nov. 4, as total sales at parent ValueVisionMedia rose 16%, the company said. ShopNBC.com accounted for 24% of total merchandise sales, up from 22% a year ago.
ValueVision Media, which retails general merchandise through direct mail and the ShopNBC TV network in addition to ShopNBC.com, reported record third-quarter revenue of $184.9 million, up 16% from last year. ShopNBC.com ranks No. 64 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
Also in the third quarter, ValueVision extended its auction business to eBay.com and integrated its ShopNBC product catalog with Amazon.com to support sales through Amazon.
ValueVision booked a net loss of $3.1 million for the quarter compared with a net loss of $7.1 million in Q3 2005.
Total shipped units dropped 1% in the third quarter, to 1.1 million but per-unit average price point rose 14% to $225.
