Polo Ralph Lauren brings interactive window shopping to Chicago
Polo Ralph Lauren today launched interactive window shopping—in which customer can shop from outside the store using a touch screen—at its Michigan Avenue store in Chicago. Polo pioneered the concept at its Madison Avenue store in New York during the U.S. Open.
Using the interactive window, customers can purchase RLX high-performance skiing gear. Orders place from the window will be fulfilled by Polo.com.
In addition to shopping, consumers can choose from other features such as ski tips from Rich Burkley, general manager of Aspen Skiing Co.; live weather and ski conditions; interactive trail maps; a profile of the Aspen Ski Patrol; style advice on layering for various ski conditions; footage from the latest ski videos; and a “First Tracks” offer, where consumers can sign up to access the mountain before it is open to the general public.
Ralph Lauren also will be introducing touch screen kiosks inside of its Aspen store where consumers can access the same features.
“Following the success of our New York window, we wanted to explore other exciting uses of this technology,” says David Lauren, senior vice president of advertising, marketing and corporate communications.
The interactive window will be open through Feb. 19
