Education-oriented software site gets a make-over

Journey Education Marketing, seller of discounted software to students, faculty and educational institutions, has re-launched JourneyEd.com, featuring improved navigation, a wish list and new merchandising and personalization technology. In addition to selling 6,600 software titles at discount, Journey Education Marketing operates over 1,600 Academic eStores for vendors, bookstores and schools.

JourneyEd.com’s enhancements include easier navigations, aesthetic improvements that create consistency throughout the site, applications targeted at schools and volume license customers, integration of a wish list feature that allows customers to save a filled shopping cart and e-mail it to others, and a Journey Recommends feature which creates merchandising and personalization offers based on a customer`s purchasing history.

The redesign will occur in two phases. Phase I will encompass organizational and aesthetic changes to increase usability. Phase II, scheduled for release prior to the fall semester, will include mechanical code changes, creating an improvement in operations, faster page loads and higher user volume capacity.
