A new entrant in the site-search competition

The market for site search technology keeps getting more competitive. The latest entrant is Blanketware Corp., which announced today the first implementation of its search, navigation and aggregation product Diatra at Canadian portal Canoe.ca.

Canoe.ca will use Diatra to power its sports and home & garden shops. Those online stores include products from eBay.ca , Sport Chek and Canadian Tire.

Blanketware competes with at least half a dozen other search providers who are taking the search-navigation-aggregation approach to returning search results on retail web sites. They include EasyAsk Inc., Mercado Software Inc., Endeca Technologies Inc., Verity Inc. and Netrics Inc.

“We are very pleased to offer our members such an advanced, yet simple online shopping experience,” said Canoe general manager Jose Leal. “Our customers will benefit from the speed and ease with which they can find, compare and buy the products they need.”
