Drugstore.com appoints two new board members
Drugstore.com Inc., an online retailer of health, beauty, vision and pharmacy products, has appointed Richard W. Bennett III and Geoffrey R. Entress to its board of directors. The company also announced the resignations of board members Dan Levitan and G. Charles Roy III.
Bennett—who has more than 30 years leadership and management experience in the retail industry—is president and CEO of Direct Holdings Worldwide. He is responsible for multiple holdings, including Time-Life entertainment. He previously served as president and CEO of Famous Barr and Kaufmanns in Pittsburgh, and was vice chairman of May Department Stores.
“Rick will be an outstanding addition to our strong board of directors,” says Dawn Lepore, chairman and CEO. “Rick’s broad and deep retail experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow revenues in our over-the-counter and Beauty.com business.”
Entress replaces Cayce Roy, vice president of Amazon.com Inc., as the designee of Amazon.com, the largest shareholder in Drugstore.com. He is a principal with the Madrona Venture Group, a Seattle-based venture capital firm.
