Kiwis get iTunes and online Apple stores
Apple Computer Inc. has launched its online iTunes Store in New Zealand, giving New Zealanders access to all the music and features available to other iTunes customers. Apple also opened Apple Store New Zealand online, where customers can purchase Apple products, including iPod digital music players, Intel-based Mac desktop and notebook computers, the iLife ‘06 suite of digital lifestyle applications, iPod and Mac accessories and Mac OS X.
Apple is No. 15 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites
With more than two million songs in its catalog, the iTunes Store features songs priced at NZ$1.79 ($1.22 U.S.), music videos at NZ$3.59 ($2.45 U.S.) and most albums at NZ$17.99 ($12.30 U.S.). Local flavored music featured on iTunes includes tracks from New Zealand artists Fat Freddy’s Drop, Brooke Fraser and The Datsuns along with extensive catalogs from New Zealand staple groups including Crowded House and The Black Seeds.
The iTunes podcast directory is included and features more than 65,000 podcasts, such as featured New Zealand podcasts from TVNZ, The Voice Booth and Radio NZ.
ITunes New Zealand is Apple’s 22nd store worldwide.
