Site availability stays consistent in November

Despite some performance problems this month in the wake of record online holiday shopping crowds, the high broadband availability provided by the web’s 50 biggest retailers was very consistent in November, says Gomez Inc.

The top companies—Zappos, OfficeMax, Quixtar, Scholastic, J.C. Penney and Office Depot —provided solid high broadband availability rates that averaged almost 100%. Zappos led all retailers with a site success rate of 99.43%.

The overall average for all top 50 retailers in October was 98.89%. For low broadband connectivity, the November availability average was 98.31% and 86.45% for dial-up.
