Vcommerce Introduces New Solution Packages to Drive Multi-Channel Retail Initiatives
Retailers and Manufacturers Abandon Existing Models and
Turn to Outsourced Solution for
Direct-to-Consumer Initiatives in Multiple Channels
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ., AUGUST 2, 2004 – Vcommerce Corporation today introduced VantageCommerce™, the latest version of its hosted solution for multi-channel direct–to-consumer initiatives, such as Web stores, in-store kiosks, printed catalogs, phone-order entry. The solution couples outsourced services with robust Web-based tools that provide visibility and control throughout the commerce chain, from order capture to fulfillment to reverse logistics.
Vcommerce’s solutions are designed to help companies improve on their commerce chain systems and “keep what works, fix what’s broken and take it all to a new level SM.” Based on their needs, companies can choose to use VantageCommerce, or any of its individual VantagePoint components to augment the commerce chain systems they already have in place. The company also released two industry-specific solution bundles, RetailVantage and ManufactureVantage, which tailor the VantageCommerce features to their unique industry needs. All of the solutions are based on the company’s Adaptive Commerce Platform Technology, which has been processing transactions for over five years.
“Do-it-yourself and other in-house initiatives in multi-channel retail can lead to poor customer service as well as maintenance nightmares for sales and marketing professionals," said Kent Allen, sell-side research director at industry analyst firm Aberdeen Group. “In the past year and a half we have seen growing interest in, and adoption of, outsourced solutions that allow sellers to maintain brand integrity, visibility, and control across all of their channels”
“Many retailers and manufacturers have struggled to make their multi-channel initiatives profitable,” said Vcommerce CEO Dan Clarke. “We’re seeing a tremendous increase in interest in our solutions, which make it easier for our clients to dramatically minimize risks, increase efficiencies and reduce costs. Watch this space for announcements about major clients we’ve recently brought on board.”
Retail Industry Solutions
RetailVantage is designed specifically for retailers’ multi-channel initiatives, such as Web stores, in-store kiosks, printed catalogs and phone-order entry. The solution can handle such retail-specific needs as in-store returns, store sourcing, seasonal product line extensions, holiday promotions, NRF calendar compliance, online/kiosk merchandizing, and channel-specific pricing. Based on retailers’ specific needs, they can choose to use the entire RetailVantage solution or one of its two component solutions, OrderVantage and SupplierVantage, to enhance their existing commerce chain systems. RetailVantage enables retailers to maintain focus on their primary brick-and-mortar business while fulfilling their customers’ demands for a smooth, multi-channel shopping experience.
Manufacturing Industry Solutions
ManufactureVantage meets the needs of the manufacturing community by enabling them to outsource direct-to-consumer channels, such as online, printed catalog and phone-order entry. Its Web-based tools offer visibility and control across all steps in the process. ManufactureVantage’s flexibility allows clients to choose the level of involvement that fulfills their needs, enabling consumers to buy directly from the manufacturer and allowing distribution partners to sell the manufacturer’s products more effectively through dealer networks. The manufacturer can stay focused on their primary business, while maintaining product, pricing and territory integrity. Additionally, ManufactureVantage provides the flexibility to source and return products through dealers, distributors or the manufacturer, based on business rules. Clients can choose to implement the entire ManufactureVantage solution or one of its two component solutions, OrderVantage and DistributorVantage, to expand upon any commerce chain systems they already use.
New Solutions Support Alliances Program
Vcommerce’s solutions are also designed to support its growing alliance program with outsourcing, technology and systems integrator partners. The modular tools and services allow partners to easily integrate Vcommerce’s VantagePoints and expertise as they develop custom solutions for their clients. The technology components are built upon a completely modular architecture, so they can be integrated at various points of clients’ commerce chains.
According to Vcommerce President and CTO Dan Kennedy, “We’ve developed these new solutions based on seven years of hands-on experience with our clients and partners. Our powerful combination of easy-to-use technology and outsourced services is designed to help retailers and manufacturers successfully do business in multiple channels, while meeting their business needs for lower costs, decreased distractions and increased control.”
