1-800-Flowers.com and AmericanGreetings.com form marketing alliance

1-800-Flowers.com and AmericanGretings.com have formed an alliance that will give customers of each site access to selected online goods and services offered by the other, the companies announced today. 1-800-Flowers.com online shoppers will be able to view free content, send free electronic greetings, make purchases or sign up for an electronic greetings subscription from a new co-branded page on 1-800-Flowers.com’s web site.

1-800-Flowers.com becomes the exclusive floral provider on AmericanGreetings.com’s three premium web sites, AmericanGreetings.com, BlueMountain.com and Egreetings.com. In addition, 1-800-Flowers.com products will be featured in the "Gift Center" sections of AmericanGreetings.com and BlueMountain.com and in the "Gift Shop" section of Egreetings.com. Both companies will promote the relationships through interactive and traditional marketing vehicles and will share revenue from any resulting transactions.

"This alliance gives customers more reasons to shop with us," says 1-800-Flowers.com CEO Jim McCann. "Additionally, it deepens our relationship with our customers by providing another great way for them to connect to the important people in their lives."
