Fry Inc. Chosen To Develop HomeClick Sites
Two new brands are introduced with enhanced
customer experience and purchase processes
ANN ARBOR, Michigan – August 16, 2004 – Fry, Inc., a leading e-commerce design, development and managed services provider, today announced that it has been selected by HomeClick, the premiere online retailer for luxury home products, to design two new properties, absolutehome.com and barbecues.com.
The site launches mark the first introduction of the two brands for Home Décor Products Inc., parent company of the HomeClick.com web site. Fry created corporate identities for the two new brands in addition to developing the web sites.
“We’re proud to take part in the launch of these new brands,” said David Fry, president and chief executive officer of Fry. “Absolutehome.com offers an extensive assortment of well- known products that meet the needs of home improvement and remodeling customers. Barbecues.com will extend the same great customer experience consumers expect from the HomeClick brand to outdoor entertaining enthusiasts.”
Fry developed the sites using .Net architecture to provide a flexible, scalable and reliable online store that can be enhanced and modified quickly.
“We are excited to introduce these online brands to consumers,” said Michael Golden, CEO and president of Home Decor Products. “We ultimately plan to leverage this framework for all Home Decor Product sites in order to give our customers a consistently superior shopping experience.”
The sites feature a unique re-order system which utilizes customer purchasing history to help suggest products and accessories that match products in a customer’s purchase record. In addition to the re-order system, the sites will include a “kitting” system that provides consumers with additional products to compliment their purchase and form a complete kit for operation and maintenance of products.
“This is an especially useful feature,” Fry said. “Customers could, for instance, select a sink and the kit feature would show a package that includes the faucet, drains and grids to prevent scratching, customized to that sink. Dependent on which model and features the customer chooses, the site suggests accessories that optimize use of the product.”
Absolutehome.com launched in late July. Barbecues.com is scheduled for launch in September.
