Do It Best gets a web-enabled warehouse data system
Do it Best Corp., a cooperative of hardware, lumber and building supply retailers, is deploying a web-based supply chain information and data collection system from DigiTerra Inc., a subsidiary of CIBER Inc., in seven distribution centers and its web site, DoItBest.com. The system will extend wireless Internet connectivity to all PCs and laptops in the warehouse, DigiTerra tells InternetRetailer.com.
Do It Best expects to improve productivity and lower costs by providing warehouse employees with real-time access to supply chain information and streamlining the collection of supply chain data.
DigiTerra has completed the first system installation and integration at the Do it Best Corp. distribution center in Dixon, IL. With annual sales of $2.5 billion, Fort Wayne, IN-based Do it Best serves 4,300 member retailers in he United States and in 42 foreign countries.
