Transaction volume carried on the Internet-based ADX Network for home improvement retailers and their trading partners rose 200% in 2003 over 2002, Advanced Data Exchange reports. ADX, which provides secure transmissions over the Internet of electronic business documents, also notes that transaction volume tripled in the 24-month period ended last December compared to 2001.
ADX said its growth has coincided with a four-fold increase in the number of electronic connections between suppliers and retail trading partners during 2002 and 2003. Although ADX handles transactions for nine of the largest home improvement retailers, it says those with the largest increases in ADX Network transactions were Amazon.com, Do it Best Corp., 84 Lumber and Ferguson Enterprises. Other ADX clients among home improvement retailers include The Home Depot, Ace Hardware Corp., Lowe’s Companies Inc., Menards Inc., and Sears, Roebuck and Co.
ADX also said it has facilitated its growth among home improvement retailers by offering services that enable suppliers of all sizes to share electronic business documents with retailers. “We expect further growth in this important vertical segment,” says vice president of marketing David Michaud.
