“Supply Chain Execution Meets Planning”

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 19, 2002 ¾ Vcommerce Corporation, a leading supply chain execution solutions provider, and K2B, a leading demand and supply planning provider, today announced they have entered into a strategic alliance that accelerates the distribution of the companies’ comprehensive supply chain execution and planning suites.

Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will integrate, co-brand, and cross-market their solutions. Vcommerce will distribute the new application as V-Planning. This addition allows Vcommerce to seamlessly extend its end-to-end Supply Chain Execution (SCE) suite from planning through logistics management. The alliance makes Vcommerce and K2B the first to fully integrate supply chain execution with planning systems.

“Traditional planning systems are typically unaware of the realities of execution - as soon as a plan is generated, its accuracy deteriorates as execution strays from plan. By integrating V-Planning into Vcommerce’s suite of supply chain execution solutions, we are able to provide a unique feedback loop, from execution to planning, that enables the planning system to appropriately respond to operational changes,” said Steve DeFrancesco, Senior Director of Product Management. “While Vcommerce continues to focus on the execution side of the supply chain, this alliance allows our clients to further minimize working capital requirements through integrated planning and execution.”

“K2B provides the insight into what, when and how to buy and position inventory. We show clients how changes in the supply chain will impact working capital and we provide decision support that enables cash optimization,” said Paul Buchanan, CEO, K2B. “Quite simply, K2B brings knowledge to business and it is a natural complement to Vcommerce solutions. Together our solutions, along with our turnkey approach, enable our customers to derive significant and measurable near-term value with considerably lower risk than traditional software solutions. ”
