Blair’s web sales grow at 10 times the rate of total sales


Web-based sales at Blair Corp. grew 28.5% in 2003 over 2002 to $84.3 million from $65.6 million in 2002, the company reports. The web accounted for 14.5% of all of Blair’s sales last year vs. 11.5% a year earlier. Companywide sales reached $581.9 million. up 2.3% over the year earlier $568.5 million.

Net income for the year was $14.5 million vs. $19.1 million a year earlier.

Blair, which operates under the Crossing Pointe and Irvine Park brands as well as the Blair brand and has a wholesale division, Allegheny Trail, says it expects its web site to continue to expand its customer base and generate revenue growth.
