NAPA starts a drive to the web
NAPA Auto Parts is launching an Internet-based ordering system where repair shops can order parts and have them fulfilled from local NAPA stores. NAPA has worked out a deal to offer discounts on Dell computers for shops that do not have computers with Internet access.
Mechanics will be able to look up the parts they need, check attributes and view part images to ensure that the part they want is the part they need, find product warranty information, and learn availability at the local store and pricing. The web site will also allow customers to check availability at near-by stores if the local store doesn’t have what they need. The inventory information is updated and reported in real time, NAPA tells InternetRetailer.com.
In addition, NAPA PROLink, as the service is being called, enables users to view previous orders, inquiries and history and provides customized quick-reference lists. Customers will not be able to sign up for electronic accounts and use the web until their local NAPA store has connected to the network.
NAPA Auto Parts has more than 6,000 stores and 11,000 NAPA AutoCare Centers nationwide.
