Equilibrium MediaRich 2.5 Enables Microsoft .NET Web Services, Provides a COM API, and Delivers Support for CMYK Process Colors for Output to Print, Web and Smart Devices
SAN RAFAEL, CA.─JULY 9, 2002─Equilibrium®, a leading provider of imaging solutions for the enterprise, today announced the availability of MediaRich™ Image Server 2.5 to automate image processing, management and deployment of visual content for multi-channel merchandising to ensure brand consistency across an organization. With version 2.5, integrators can access MediaRich using a Microsoft® .NET Web service or COM API, process CMYK and PostScript® files, utilize Web client cookies, and stream image data directly from the server.
Equilibrium MediaRich is server-based imaging software that automates the transformation and deployment of visual assets to the Web, wireless and print. By integrating MediaRich with virtually any content architecture, companies are able to set up media templates to publish images usually accomplished manually by artists and technical teams. MediaRich has dynamic imaging features such as zoom, pan, colorize, resize, mix and match, font generation and compositing. MediaRich Image Server dramatically reduces production costs and accelerates time-to-market for delivering compelling visual content for any medium.
“Equilibrium MediaRich is such a pure tool, that we completely integrated version 2.5 into our KBAM!™ online service for global brand management,” said Michael Witt, VP of New Media at Kinetic Corp., a premier Brand Asset Management and fulfillment company. “With the added functionality of Equilibrium’s automated imaging technology, we are able to meet the localized marketing needs and extend the brand assets for one of the world’s largest express carriers.”
Equilibrium MediaRich 2.5 Features:
MediaRich XML Web Service for Microsoft .NET – Allows a request to be formed and executed by a MediaRich server via a Web Method, the framework for building transaction-based services for various media types.
COM API – Allows a request to be formed and executed by a MediaRich server using any language that supports a COM binding (C#, C++, Jscript, Visual Basic, VBScript, Perl etc.).
CMYK Image Support – Reads and writes CMYK color separated files using the TIFF, EPS and JPEG file formats.
New Drawing Engine – Offers more control over anti-aliasing and text styles that result in higher-quality output.
HTTP Request Headers – By setting HTTP header information while processing client requests, this allows MediaRich to read and write web browser cookie information with each request.
Photoshop® File Format Support – Support for the Photoshop file format has been extended to render all image effects native to the desktop application.
Streamed Response Data – Allows response types to be set for generated data. This allows data, such as XML, HTML or images to be returned to any physical or virtual location.
Caching Options – You can specify the level of caching that the MediaRich server will perform. Options include the ability to generate and cache an image or stream it directly back to the client.
Virtual Memory File System – Images can now be stored in virtual memory on your server, which will dramatically improve the performance of MediaRich.
