— Successful systems integrator to sell and implement
Island Pacific`s Merchandise Management system—
Irvine, CA – July 17, 2002 – Island Pacific, a
division of SVI Solutions, Inc. (AMEX: SVI),
announced today that they have signed a partnership
agreement with Retail Process Engineering, LLC (RPE),
a leading consultant and systems integrator for the
retail market with over 500 client locations
throughout the U.S. This agreement has been signed
as part of Island Pacific`s Preferred Partner Program.
“We created the Preferred Partner Program to help us
build a strong base of strategic partners,” said
Coleen McNally, Island Pacific’s Chief Operating
Officer. “Any partner signed under our program must
meet strict qualification criteria and complete our
certification process. We want to be sure that Island
Pacific partners bring value to our customers by
adding value to our offerings. We are very pleased to
welcome RPE to the program and are honored to include
them on our team.”
According to the terms of the agreement, RPE will
market, sell and implement Island Pacific`s
Merchandise Management system as an Island Pacific
Certified Business Partner. “RPE has an excellent
reputation in the retail industry and a history of
delivering beyond their customers` expectations,”
commented McNally. “Their business practices reflect
the same core values that Island Pacific holds in the
highest regard. I believe this is a strong
partnership that will quickly and effectively extend
our marketing and sales reach.”
“Island Pacific`s products, services and support are
well-respected in the industry,” said Cliff Epstein,
President, Retail Process Engineering. “Island
Pacific knows the retail market like we do. They have
a premiere list of customers and a robust suite of
integrated software applications that makes for a very
attractive offering. The Merchandise Management
system brings a powerful retail solution to our
arsenal. We already have several opportunities we are
pursuing in which Island Pacific will be a good fit.”
About Island Pacific`s Merchandise Management System
Island Pacific`s Merchandise Management system is
designed to assist retailers in maximizing the
potential of the people, products, and ideas that make
up their business. The System includes a number of
modules that allow retailers to integrate all their
operational areas in support of the supply chain:
planning and open-to-buy, forecasting, purchase order
management, allocation, transfers, automated
replenishment, price management and physical
inventory. In addition, Island Pacific`s business
analysis and planning tool, The EyeÔ, utilizes
advanced data storage techniques and information
filtering to support strategic decision-making
activities. Because The Eye’s datamart features ease
of use, high-level performance, and user definable
data reporting and display, it combines the advantages
of a custom software solution with the upgrade
benefits of packaged software.
In addition to the core modules included in
Merchandise Management, the architecture itself
provides advantages. Island Pacific employs a
single-version development philosophy where the core
product is continuously enhanced by both
customer-driven modifications and internally funded
development. This
approach ensures retailers a robust, feature-rich
product with an upgrade path that keeps pace with the
latest retail advances.
Island Pacific also offers Direct, a powerful
Direct-to-Consumer application for multi-channel
retailers. In one integrated tool set, Direct provides
order entry, order processing, customer service,
purchasing, inventory planning, forecasting, warehouse
management, fulfillment, marketing and circulation
management for both web and traditional catalog/direct
mail retailing. This robust, multi-channel solution
can be purchased as a stand-alone product or as an
integrated add-on to Island Pacific`s Merchandise
Management system.
These software solutions are supported by Island
Pacific`s professional services team. Services
include consulting, technical development and
modifications, project management, systems
implementation and retail business process
re-engineering.
