After five months out of commission, Vons.com is trying to woo back customers with free roses and chocolates delivered by Vons.com executives.
Vons.com halted deliveries on Oct. 11 when members of the United Food and Commercial Workers union struck Vons and other Southern California supermarket chains. The strike was settled Feb. 29.
Mitch Rhodes, president of Vons.com, and four other senior executives will personally deliver bouquets of roses and boxes of chocolates with the 10 a.m. round of deliveries from five stores on Monday. In addition, all customers will receive a free long-stemmed rose with their orders through March 21. Vons.com is also offering free delivery on orders of $100 or more between March 15 and April 11.
The minimum order size is $50. The usual delivery fee for orders of $150 or more is $4.95. For orders less than $150, the fee is $9.95.
