Amazon starts test of its apparel store featuring 400 brands

Amazon.com began testing its new apparel store this morning, offering customers a $30 Amazon gift certificate if they spend $50 at the Amazon apparel store. The apparel selection is not available yet at Amazon’s home page; it can be accessed at Amazon.com/ruby.

The store features apparel from Lands’ End, Target Corp. and its Marshall Field’s brand, Nordstrom, The Gap and the Gap’s Old Navy brand, Eddie Bauer, Foot Locker, Guess, OshKosh B’Gosh, eLuxury, CrossingPointe and the Dress Shirt Store. It says additional brands to come are Urban Outfitters, and maternity retailers A Pea in the Pod, iMaternity, Mimi Maternity and Motherhood Maternity. Amazon says the partnerships bring more than 400 clothing brands to Amazon.

All purchases from any of the brands go into a single shopping cart for a single checkout.
