Advant-e Surpasses $2 Billion Worth of Purchase Orders Processed via GroceryEC.com

Substantial Increase in Order Processing Volume in 2002

DAYTON, Ohio, July 30, 2002 -- Advant-e Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: AVEE) announced today that it has surpassed $2 Billion worth of purchase orders processed through its www.GroceryEC.com supply chain solution since January 1, 2000. Over $1 Billion worth of purchase orders have been processed since January 30, 2002.

GroceryEC.com is a web-based supply chain solution which allows small and medium size suppliers in the grocery industry to support the Electronic Commerce initiatives of their retailer customers. The system is also utilized by large, brand-name suppliers to augment their current in-house capabilities for supporting industry specific electronic documents.

Commenting on this milestone, Jason K. Wadzinski, President and CEO of Advant-e stated: “The accelerated document processing rate on GroceryEC.com and the increasing number of retailers who look to us to provide supply chain connectivity are a testimony to the value that we are providing to the retail industry. While it took 24 months to pass $1 billion worth of orders processed, we processed another billion worth of orders in only six months. We are pleased with this accomplishment and are looking forward to providing even more value to our customers in the future.”

The increase in electronic transactions processed via GroceryEC.com is due to the addition of new subscribers to the system and increased volume from existing subscribers. Existing subscribers benefit from GroceryEC.com’s ability to support the electronic commerce initiatives of over 80 retailers.

“Our ability to provide a proven solution to retailers and suppliers has positioned us to provide an exceptionally high return on existing technology investments. In addition, our supplier ramping services enable retailers to increase supplier adoption of electronic commerce without the need to add internal resources," continued Mr. Wadzinski. “The Internet and web technologies are the optimal solution for a business process that has existed for over 20 years. Our success with GroceryEC.com proves that many retailers see the benefit of extending existing technology investments deeper within their supply chain to gain the maximum return on a proven technology that reduces cost and errors, while increasing inventory control and visibility.”

Many retailers in the grocery industry have invested heavily in their ability to do EDI and Electronic Commerce with their larger suppliers. GroceryEC.com allows these retailers to maximize their existing investment by allowing them to connect electronically with their small and medium size suppliers.
