NEIMAN MARCUS EXTENDS RELATIONSHIP WITH ATG TO CREATE LUXURIOUS ONLINE EXPERIENCE
ATG Commerce and Portal Core Elements to High-end Retailer`s Online Strategy
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., July 29, 2002 - ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., Nasdaq:
ARTG) today announced that Neiman Marcus has expanded its relationship with
the company to provide customers with an enhanced Internet shopping
experience and create more targeted online marketing campaigns. ATG is a
leading developer of online CRM applications for commerce, portals, and
relationship management.
A customer since March 2001, Neiman Marcus Online is now planning to adopt
more widely the business scenarios capabilities of ATG`s online CRM
applications. Neiman Marcus Online operates neimanmarcus.com,
chefscatalog.com and horchow.com. The move will continue to allow Neiman
Marcus Online to ensure that the online shopping experience is synonymous
with the Neiman Marcus brand.
"Our online presence operates as a seamless and natural extension of our
stores and catalog channels. E-commerce must offer a customer experience
that is consistent with that brand: the finest and most fashionable
merchandise, coupled with customer service and support that is without
peer," explained Dan Korn, executive vice president of Neiman Marcus Online.
"In the stores, each relationship between a customer and her associate is
unique. The use of ATG`s business scenarios and personalization capabilities
allow us also to provide our online customers with unique, tailored and
appropriate experience, enabling Neiman Marcus Online to provide the
experience that our customers have to come to expect."
"Neiman Marcus understands that brand is everything, and that a successful
online venture is a natural and transparent extension of your offline
presence," said Ken Volpe, vice president of product planning and strategy
for ATG. "By incorporating business scenarios into their online efforts,
Neiman Marcus is able to maintain the consistency of the company`s brand
across all of its sales channels. It is always satisfying when a customer
sees the value of your technology and elects to expand and enhance the
established relationship."
In addition to ATG Commerce, Neiman Marcus has also purchased the ATG Portal
and has plans to launch an employee intranet built on the technology.
