eSnipe’s Newest Features Include Outbid Notification and Bid Groupings,
New Layout Improves Navigation and Information Flow
Newport Beach, CA - August 8th, 2002- eSnipe (http://www.esnipe.com), the leader in online auction sniping, today announced that eSnipe 3.0 will launch on September 1st, 2002. eSnipe 3.0 improves eSnipe’s already user-friendly format with a new layout design and incorporates a number of new features, including outbid notification, bid groupings and novice and expert modes, which will allow users to improve their bidding strategies and win rates on eBay (http://www.ebay.com).
‘Sniping’ is a term used for online bidding that takes place during the last few minutes of an auction. Initially, sniping began manually among auction enthusiasts who kept multiple browser windows running with timing mechanisms set to snipe at the last possible moment. However, such methods had obvious flaws and inefficiencies, such as unreliable bid placement due to inaccurate system clocks, unpredictable computer performances and inopportune crashes.
eSnipe pioneered the concept of running a high performance sniping service on high speed dedicated Web servers with full time support staff. eSnipe’s high-powered bid placing engine, Rovatron, now delivers more than 12,000 bids a day and over 15,000 on Sundays - making eSnipe the clear market leader with over 100,000 registered users and making more than $30 million per month.
“By its nature, online auction bidding is an emotional experience and the enthusiast is always looking for tools that improve his chances for winning and adding to his collection,” stated Tom Campbell, president of eSnipe. “Previous eSnipe versions provided an advantage for the eBay power buyer, but with the launch of 3.0, he now has a more-tailored and powerful tool at his disposal to place the ‘winning bid’ -- which after all, is what eSnipe is all about.”
eSnipe 3.0 incorporates a number of new, user-friendly features that benefit the novice and power-user alike:
--Outbid notification - eSnipe will check at a scheduled time with the user’s auction to determine if he has been outbid. If so, eSnipe will notify the user via e-mail for a chance to update the snipe;
--Bid groupings - a feature primarily created for commodity item buyers. Once the bidder’s item has been won, all other bids in the group are cancelled automatically;
--Sharing bid points among multiple accounts - eSnipe power users who have several user identifications will now be able to share bid points among them;
--Novice and expert modes - like many other easy-to-use software applications, eSnipe will have both beginner and advanced settings. To use advanced mode, power users will have to activate it to ensure proper usage;
--Improved customer support - eSnipe support is moving from e-mail based customer support to a Web-based model with improved diagnostic capabilities. Other new features include a new set of tutorials covering sniping subject areas such as buying bid points and how to optimally use the service;
--New Web site appearance - along with easier navigation tools, eSnipe 3.0 will incorporate several news areas, account balance tabs and deleted auction tabs
eSnipe primary focus is to provide eBay power buyers with a tool that enhances their online auction experience. eSnipe protects all bidders’ privacy.
