Aberdeen Group names Paula Rosenblum director of retail research

Paula Rosenblum, former retail research director at AMR Research, has joined Aberdeen Group as director of retail research.

Rosenblum will be responsible for creating four studies over the next year that will address issues that retailers face today. Under the umbrella name of Next Generation Retail: The Post-Wal-Mart World, the studies will include The Proactive Merchant, which will examine how retailers use science to supplement intuitive processes and run the enterprise more efficiently; Practical Collaboration, which spotlights the need for improved synchronization and collaboration between supplier and retailer; Next-Generation Strategic Sourcing, which stresses the need for retailers to develop sourcing processes that focus on improving time-to-market and enhancing their flexibility to shift with changing consumer demand; and The Empowered Store, a concept that can realign retail to meet consumer needs and dramatically change the fundamental criteria for sustainable competitive advantage and business success.

Rosenblum previously was CIO of iParty, a regional multi-channel party supply retailer with more than 50 stores, an e-commerce site and regular catalogs, and of Domain Home Fashions.
