Best Buy Co. Inc. has launched two outlet stores on eBay.com, Best Buy announced today. A Best Buy-branded outlet store offers consumer electronics and computer products to consumers nationwide. A Best Buy regional outlet store on eBay offers select scratch-and-dent and returned products to consumers in northern Virginia and Washington, DC. The stores are at ebay.com/bestbuy.
Best Buy says it hopes the reach of eBay--72.2 million unique visitors in February vs. 8.3 million at Best Buy, according to comScore Networks Inc.--will attract new customers.
At the Best Buy Outlet on eBay, shoppers can purchase new in-box products, including computers, computing peripherals, consumer electronics and accessories, in auction and fixed price formats. All orders are shipped to the customer.
The Best Buy Regional Outlet offers returned products and scratch-and-dent appliances and large televisions. Products sold on the Regional Outlet can be shipped to the customer for a fee or picked up at a Best Buy regional distribution facility. Best Buy says it expects to open other Regional Outlets in the next year.
Best Buy employees are not permitted to bid or buy on either outlet site.
