IRVING, Texas – (August 20, 2002) – Timera, Inc., recently aligned its corporate strategy and management team to maximize opportunities for its enterprise workforce management solutions for customers in the retail and transportation industries.
Timera has been a leader in the labor solutions industry for more than a decade. Timera’s transportation division is headquartered in Boulder, Colo., and its retail division is located in the Dallas suburb of Irving, Texas.
Bill Falconer, Timera’s president, said the company is dedicated to being a customer-focused business.
"We’ve had a few years now to combine PS Technology and SoftThought into one company now known as Timera," said Falconer. "It became clear that we had exceptional talent and exceptional opportunity to serve our customers better and build a stronger, more profitable company in the process. Through this realignment, we are better able to capitalize on our collective workforce management expertise in the retail and transportation divisions to achieve greater economies of scale and faster results through marketing, sales and business development, and research and development. For our clients, this means better value, products and services from a solid partner."
The company experienced more than 80 percent growth in 2001. In 2001 and 2002, the company invested heavily in the development and launch of new products such as EWM‰ (Enterprise Workforce Management) for Retail, explored new markets and began forging new strategic alliances.
Introduced in February 2002, EWM for Retail is a fully integrated and modular solution that enables businesses to effectively and efficiently direct all aspects of the workforce management process, including budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, time and attendance, labor tracking, operations management, corporate reporting, and workforce interaction. EWM for Transportation is continuing its leadership as the premier solution for crew management and timekeeping by delivering versions targeted to rail transit and short-line rail markets.
Top Timera Initiatives
Falconer outlined the following key company initiatives over the next 12 to 18 months:
Intense focus on building solid industry-specific business expertise and leveraging that expertise across the entire company
Effectively communicating the value that EWM delivers to the marketplace
Building more industry-specific consulting, technical and customer service expertise
Exploring additional vertical markets while focusing on North America and being open to international opportunities
Continuing to incorporate robust workforce interaction tools and capabilities into the EWM solution for the benefit of customers’ employees
"With a clear focus on company objectives and with direction from a management team that is stronger than ever before, Timera continues to provide the most effective and advanced enterprise workforce management tools for our clients," said Falconer. "As the needs of our current and future clients evolve, we will continue to deliver the solutions that will address their needs of tomorrow."
Management Team
In addition to Falconer, other members of the senior management team assuming new roles and/or responsibilities at Timera are:
Purna Mishra, senior vice president for retail solutions
Matt Owens, senior vice president of transportation solutions
Wayne Tatro, vice president of business development for transportation
Mike Della Maestra, director of business development for retail
Francis Chow, vice president of finance

Falconer, president of Timera, was the founder and president of PS Technology. As the original author of EWM for Transportation, Falconer is a leader in the workforce management industry and drove the vision for Timera. Today, he strategically guides the leaders of the transportation and retail divisions.
"This management team realignment allows Timera to leverage our experience more effectively in the consultative, solution selling process while maximizing our deep industry understanding," said Falconer.
Mishra, formerly vice president of technology and a co-founder of SoftThought, was named senior vice president of retail solutions. Owens is the senior vice president of transportation solutions. Reporting to Falconer, Mishra and Owens are responsible for technology development and solution selling within their respective business segments.
As vice president of business development for transportation, Tatro is responsible for implementing the company`s expansion plan for the transportation and logistics segments as well as continuing to explore new transportation vertical markets. He also oversees the quality and assurance process for all transportation products.

Prior to joining Timera, Della Maestra worked for CyberShift, Inc. in sales and marketing capacities. He is responsible for increasing the company’s retail client base, implementing strategic sales initiatives, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Chow was promoted to vice president of finance reporting to Falconer. His department is responsible for forecasting and accounting at Timera as well as overseeing the implementation and distribution of employee benefits.
The company has restructured its marketing department to more effectively support both the rail and retail divisions, naming Schock as director of marketing. Now reporting to Falconer, Schock develops and implements strategic marketing plans and programs, manages market research initiatives, and manages the company’s strategic alliance program.
