Sharper Image reports its web sales grew sharply in March

Web-based sales at Sharper Image Corp. grew 79% in March compared to last March, to $10 million from $5.6 million, while total company revenue increased 38% to $54.8 million from $39.8 million a year ago, the company reported this week. Web sales accounted for 18.2% of all revenue in March vs. 14% in March 2003.

Comparable store sales were up 3% and catalog sales were up 51% to $17.1 million from $11.3 million.

For the first two months of Sharper Image’s fiscal year, Internet sales were up 71% vs. a year ago, to $18 million from $10.5 million. Total sales were up 42% to $106.7 million from $75 million. Comparable store sales were up 13% and catalog sales were up 48% to $31.6 million.
