My Virtual Model acquires EZsize
My Virtual Model Inc. has acquired New York City based EZsize, a provider of fit and size technology. Montreal-based My Virtual Model will immediately integrate EZsize’s “Best-Fit” technology into My Virtual Model’s current product offering.
In addition, the two companies’ client rosters will be combined into a single affiliate network, where consumers will be able to use their unique profiles to mix and match garments, receive fit and size suggestions and style advice. The integrated client roster features Lands’ End, Limited Too, Lane Bryant, Blair, Crossing Pointe, Nutri/System, Saks Fifth Avenue, FUBU, Kenneth Cole, Ann Taylor, Orvis, American Eagle Outfitters, Duckhead, WeddingChannel.com and others.
My Virtual Model and EZsize allow consumers to create electronic forms of themselves, then use those forms to try on clothing at online apparel retailers. The models are cross-referenced to a database of clothing specifications to present to the shopper how clothing will fit.
“Fit and size concerns along with visualization are the biggest impediments to growth in the online apparel industry, with incorrect fit and size being the major cause of high return rates for both catalog and online retailers” said Louise Guay, president and CEO of My Virtual Model Inc. “We made this move to consolidate the leading technologies under one banner and into one unified application.”
The combined company will continue to operate under the My Virtual Model name and will offer catalog and online retailers two products. The first includes a stand-alone fit-and-size tool that will give shoppers fit and size suggestions based on their body measurements and the garment’s sizing specifications and intended fit.
The second integrates My Virtual Model’s core offering of visualization tools featuring just released E3 body, face and garment enhancements with the EZsize fit and size module.
