William R. “Billy” May is the new vice president of Internet marketing at Benchmark Brands. He formerly served as director of Internet and emerging channels at Lowe’s Companies Inc.
At Benchmark Brands, May directs the Internet retail operations and acquisition and retention marketing programs that account for 40% of company sales. He is responsible for both FootSmart.com and WalkSmart.com as well as for online strategy, customer research, and business architecture.
“Billy’s performance at Lowe’s is quite impressive as he overhauled the customer experience and profitably grew online sales at a triple-digit rate during his tenure there,” said Alan Beychok, president, Benchmark Brands. “We are confident that Billy’s track record of driving results and his hands-on experience in managing customer-centric marketing programs will provide continued rapid growth for both FootSmart and our newest brand, WalkSmart.”
