Omniture lands $14.5 million in VC funding
Web analytics provider Omniture Inc. has closed a $14.5 million round of venture capital funding, led by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. The company says it will use the funding to accelerate training and technology development, sales and marketing efforts and to invest in greater infrastructure needed by a growing client base.
Mark Gorenberg, a partner at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, will join the company`s board of directors. San Francisco-based Hummer Winblad Venture Partners has $1 billion under management.
Omniture, which markets the SiteCatalyst product, an enterprise-level web analytics tool, recently reported its 12th consecutive quarter of growth and sixth consecutive quarter of profitability.
"We were impressed by the Omniture team, the sustainability of their business model and the loyalty of their marquee client base," Gorenberg said.
