Homeruns.com selling its site software and backend systems

Failed online grocery site HomeRuns.com is preparing to sell off its assets. It has chosen the Website Recycling Co. to conduct the liquidation.

HomeRuns, which shut down in July, will sell the site code of Homeruns` grocery store and its back-end warehouse and delivery systems. Website Recycling is posting full descriptions of the software and technical support for potential buyers http://www.webreco.com.

"This is an extremely exciting software package," stated Gage Andrews, President of Webreco. "It combines an advanced online ordering system with custom-built rapid delivery software to simultaneously serve tens of thousands of customers across multiple states. Homeruns and Webvan.com are the only two online grocers to have reached such levels of sophistication in their technologies."

HomeRuns says it spent over $20 million developing the software.

HomeRuns has also been selling office, warehouse, and technology assets through the Gordon Brothers Group, which is a founding partner of the Website Recycling Co., along with Boston-based Internet development company The Screen House.
