Visits increase at 7 of top 10 computer and consumer electronics sites
Seven of the top 10 multi-category computer and consumer electronics web sites experienced increased traffic in July, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. TigerDirect.com led the group with an 82% increase to 3.1 million visits from 1.7 million a year earlier.
CircuitCity.com followed, with visits increasing 41% to 6.5 million from 4.6 million, followed by CDW, up 25% to 2 million from 1.6 million; CompUSA.com, up 18% to 2.34 million from 1.99 million; BestBuy.com, up 16% to 10.3 million from 8.9 million; OSTG, up 15% to 3.36 million from 2.94 million; and Sony, up 8% to 2.7 million from 2.5 million.
Only two sites experienced a drop in visits: eBay Electronics, down 4% to 7.9 million from 8.2 million, and Sony Electronics, down 1% to 3.26 million from 3.29 million.
BestBuy.com had the most visits, followed by eBay Electronics, CircuitCity.com, eBay Computers (5.5 million), OSTG, Sony Electronics, TigerDirect.com, Sony, CompUSA.com and CDW.
In the top ten multi-category computer and consumer electronics web sites ranked by time per visit, Simple Star led with 20 minutes, 58 seconds; followed by CDW, 16 minutes, 6 seconds; Geeks.com, 14 minute, 58 seconds; eBay Electronics, 13 minutes, 51 seconds; TigerDirect.com, 11 minutes, 20 seconds; Sony, 10 minutes, 34 seconds; CircuitCity.com, 10 minutes, 29 seconds; CompUSA.com, 10 minutes, 7 seconds; eBay Computers, 9 minutes, 46 seconds; and OSTG, 9 minutes, 24 seconds.
