CyberSource appoints new president and COO; names president of BidPay unit

CyberSource Corp., a provider of electronic payment processing and risk management for online retailers, has appointed two payment industry veterans to new senior management positions. Scott Cruickshank is president and chief operating officer, and David Hansen is president of BidPay.com Inc., an online auction payments subsidiary. Both report to CyberSource chairman and CEO Bill McKiernan.

“We are expanding our executive team to match an expanding market opportunity, and Scott Cruickshank and David Hansen will play key roles in taking CyberSource to the next level of market leadership," McKiernan said.

Cruickshank, who will retain his position on the CyberSource board that he has held since last August, most recently served as president and COO of Qsent, a provider of payment data authentication services. Prior to Qsent, he was chief marketing officer at Paymentech L.P., now known as Chase Paymentech Solutions L.L.C. In other positions, Cruickshank served as senior vice president of First Data Merchant Services, managing director of Bank One Payment Services, and vice president of acquirer relations for MasterCard International.

Hansen most recently served as vice president and general manager of BidPay, which CyberSource acquired from First Data Corp. earlier this year for $1.8 million. A 19-year veteran of First Data, Hansen also served as vice president and global operations for First Data’s Western Union subsidiary.
