FAST acquires Kopek AS for about $3 million

Fast Search and Transfer, a provider of web site search technology, has agreed to pay 20 million Norwegian kroners (about $3 million) for Kopek AS, a develop of a secure online content access platform, FAST said.

"This acquisition extends FAST`s ability to offer customers new ways to distribute and monetize their digital content, and enables consumers to conveniently access personal and public content from any device," said Ali I. Riaz, president of FAST.

The Kopek content access platform incorporates security, transport, identification, access control, personalization, payments and clearing, all in one application, FAST said. The system works transparently with all types of media and content, including web pages, web services, images, e-mail, live video streams, audio, applications, and Internet network access, across all device types, the company said.
