Blades, Board & Skate selects Global Sports to run its web store

Sporting goods web site operator Global Sports Inc. has signed a deal to operate the new e-commerce web site for Blades, Board & Skate, a leading action sports enthusiast retail chain based in New York City. The online store features a full line of in-line skates, skateboards, snowboards and related footwear, apparel and accessories. Blades.com was previously operated by Blades, Board & Skate as a hybrid solution using a third-party ASP, while the retailer handled merchandising and fulfillment. Global Sports will handle web site development, merchandising, order processing, fulfillment, inventory management and customer service for Blades.com. Blades, Board & Skate will promote the new web site via print advertising, radio placements, specialty sports marketing, direct mail campaigns and in-store marketing throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region.
