Shop.com names Ken Goldstein CEO
Shopping portal Shop.com has named Ken Goldstein CEO. Goldstein previously was executive vice president and managing director at e-retailer Disney Online, No. 55 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
Shop.com began the search several months ago, seeking an executive who could help the company better focus marketing efforts, the company says. At Disney, Goldstein was responsible for creative, technical, marketing and financial e-commerce initiatives.
“Shop.com has seen impressive growth over the past three years, growing from relative obscurity in 2003 to a Nielsen top-20 multi-category e-commerce marketplace with nearly one million unique visitors each day,” Goldstein says. “But from a marketing perspective, it’s really more like a start-up.”
Lee Lorenzen, Shop.com’s founder and former CEO, will remain as chairman of the board. Co-founder Bruce Sellers will continue to serve as president of the online marketplace.
