Internet sales at dELiA*s Inc. increased 39% to $105.5 million for the fiscal year ended Jan. 28, 2006, up from $76 million during the last fiscal year, the retailer reports. Fourth quarter online sales totaled $39.1 million, up 21% from $32.3 million the same period in 2005.
For the year, Internet sales accounted for 46.5% of total sales, up from 38.1% the previous year.
Total sales for the year increased 14% year-over-year to $226.7 million from $199.4 million. Full-year sales for the retail store segment increased 7.2% to $68.7 million from $64.1 million.
The retailer reported a net loss of $10.3 million for the year compared with a net loss of $9.4 million a year earlier. The figure reflected a loss from discontinued operations of $11.3 million related to the sale of Dan’s Competition business and a $1.7 million cumulative effect of a change in accounting principles.
