Shopzilla has the largest increase in traffic in March in shopping sites
Shopzilla.com recorded the largest gain in traffic among the top 10 online shopping site in March, with visits increasing 87% to 19.1 million from 10.2 million a year earlier, according to Nielsen/NetRatings.
Wal-Mart Stores experienced the second largest increase, with visits rising 43% to 18.6 million from 13 million a year earlier. Ranked third was Target, where visits increased 43% to 18.6 million from 13 million; followed by Amazon, up 18% to 40.7 million from 34.6 million; Shopping.com, up 15% to 18 million from 15.6 million; eBay, up 8% to 55.6 million from 51.6 million; Dell, up 6% to 16.5 million from 15.5 million; and Travelocity, up 2% to 13.6 million from 13.37 million.
Two sites experienced drops in traffic: Yahoo Shopping, down 23% to 13.1 million from 17 million; and Expedia, down 7 % to 16.4 million from 17.6 million.
The top site in number of visits was eBay, followed by Amazon, Shopzilla.com, Wal-Mart Stores, Target, Shopping.com, Dell, Expedia, Travelocity, and Yahoo Shopping.
Also in March, the Coca-Cola Co. had the most online ad impressions in the consumer goods industry, according to Nielsen’s Ad Relevance Report. The leading brands and their ad impressions (in millions) were:
