NetGrocer.com sets its sights on former Webvan customers
One less grocery delivery service in the market means more customers for the
players who are left. NetGrocer.com of North Brunswick, NJ, the online grocer that delivers via
FedEx to customers all over the country, is working out a deal with the
failed Webvan Inc. in which NetGrocer can market its services to former
Webvan customers, NetGrocer President Lisa Kent tells Internet Retailer.
The two companies have not finalized details. Webvan, which shut down operations and laid off its staff on Monday, served regional markets in Chicago, Los Angeles, Orange County (Calif.), Portland, San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle.
