Global Sports expands its e-commerce deal with The Sports Authority
King of Prussia, PA-based Global Sports, operator of sporting goods web sites, has expanded its deal with Fort Lauderdale, FL-based The Sports Authority. The 19-year agreement gives The Sports Authority a single-digit percentage of revenue. The original agreement was established as a joint venture in which the retailer owned 15% of the web property. The new deal also expands Global Sports’ services. Global Sports now will cover orders, fulfillment, delivery and other services from The Sports Authority’s catalog and in-store kiosk sales. Global Sports says its infrastructure is already scaleable enough to include the systems needed to implement kiosks and catalogs. The Sports Authority also will provide more promotional support for the web site through the kiosks and catalogs.
