Dimensions 5.0 Allows Market Research Firms and Commercial Organizations to Easily Capture Customer Attitudes, Opinions and Experiences
CHICAGO, Ill. (USA) — February 4, 2008 –- SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS), a leading worldwide provider of predictive analytics software, today unveiled a new version of its market-leading software suite, Dimensions™ 5.0. The new features, including Question Wizard, a web-deployed Reporter, and Remote Manager, ensure higher survey response rates, better access to respondents, easy creation of powerful and visually appealing surveys, and faster delivery of interactive results to decision-makers across the organization.
Market research firms and commercial organizations use Dimensions 5.0 to better capture survey data, engage in customer dialogue and interactivity, conduct election polling and capture census data to gain the deepest level of understanding of customers, citizens or employees. Dimensions 5.0 spans the entire Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM) process and is an ongoing means of incorporating regular customer insight into business operations.
“Single-channel departmental surveys have limited value and are making way for more holistic Enterprise Feedback Management solutions,” said Jim Davies, research director at Gartner Inc. “Those solutions empower decision makers by delivering appropriate feedback of attitudinal data from both unstructured and structured sources with transactional data about customer behavior to increase customer satisfaction, retention and lifetime value.”
Leveraging Dimensions 5.0 as part of the SPSS predictive analytics platform allows organizations to take their data to the next level and gain a complete understanding of their customers. By including valuable opinions, preferences and attitudes of customers collected through Dimensions with the unstructured data collected through text mining non-survey channels, such as e-mail, call center notes or blogs, organizations can better understand customers, predict their actions and improve and optimize business processes.
The new features in Dimensions 5.0 include:
Easily Create Visually Appealing Surveys
Dimensions 5.0 allows customers to create dynamic and powerful questionnaires – with the enhanced Desktop Author – to better engage respondents and improve response rates. Surveys can be deployed via the Web, telephone, paper and mobile devices – in any language – to gain broader and more accurate insight from respondents.
The new Question Wizard guides and simplifies survey creation by automatically generating and populating the questionnaire. Survey authors are guided through the creation process by simply answering a few questions resulting in a new and complete survey available for immediate use. Dimensions 5.0 also ensures survey assets are secure and centralized in the Predictive Enterprise Repository to minimize duplication and maintain research or corporate standards, such as core demographics, product preference questions, and tracking studies.
Expand Data Collection Techniques
Dimensions 5.0 users can now manage, control and collect data in any location – regardless of internet connection – while maintaining survey quality, data integrity and security. The introduction of Remote Manager directs data connections from the field without compromising the interviewing and data collection process. All survey data is stored locally for auditing and quality assurance. Also, field interviewers collecting data can track their progress visually, stop and restart interviews, and monitor project changes.
Quickly Deploy and Manage Results
Dimensions 5.0 introduces Reporter, a web-deployed interactive reporting tool, that allows users to quickly publish and share reports in a visual form, making it easier to share valuable insight across the enterprise. Users can drill-down into the survey reports and aggregate results to better understand customer feedback and increase customer service, acquisition, retention, and cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
Simone Hermandinger, head of market research and sales planning at KTM Sportmotorcycle AG, which builds race-ready motorcycles for competitive and recreational riding, commented, “Dimensions software allows us to interact directly with our customers and capture their immediate reactions to our bike presentations, which significantly increases the amount of feedback we receive. In addition, Dimensions gives us immediate access to results collected in the field. We can take immediate action based on the collected feedback, as opposed to waiting for 2-3 weeks for the processing and preparation of results. Making results available locally and globally helps us track and share data across the entire organization, supporting our customer relationship management.”
Open and Integrated Environment
Dimensions 5.0 is also integrated with SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services™, an enterprise-level predictive analytics platform that enables the effective and widespread use of predictive models. Organizations can easily manage their survey assets and analytical results, automate analytical processes and deliver predictions and insight into the business wherever needed from a single platform. Additionally, Dimensions 5.0 brings integration with Clementine®, SPSS’ market-leading data and text mining technology, making it easier than ever for customers to integrate attitudinal data into customer analysis.
“SPSS survey and market research solutions differentiate our product offerings from all other predictive analytics solutions on the market,” said Bob Dutcher, vice president, product marketing at SPSS. “Dimensions 5.0 enables organizations to make decisions today on what their customers want tomorrow by integrating customer feedback data—a key corporate asset—with transactional data for an accurate and complete understanding of preferences, motivations, and intentions.”
