Delightful Deliveries searches for a new search marketing company


Delightful Deliveries Inc. is close to selecting a new pair of service providers to run its search engine marketing and customer relationship management programs. Delightful Deliveries, which ranks No. 394 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, so far has held discussions with Reprise Media, Exact Target and Fathom IT Solutions, says CEO Eric Lituchy.

The company, which spends more than $1 million each year on search engine marketing, has maintained its own program thus far, Lituchy says. But in an effort to more than double its web sales in 2005 to between $8 million and $10 million, Delightful Deliveries needs to expand its search engine marketing program and develop more expertise.

Specifically, Delightful Deliveries wants to expand its keyword search from around 1,500 words and phrases to at least 50,000. The company, which uses a search engine technology platform from Atlas OnePoint, also wants to expand its A/B testing program. "I`ve been pretty much doing the search engine marketing. As we grow, it`s time to bring in some specialization," Lituchy says.

Delightful Deliveries, which conducts most of its search campaigns on Google and Yahoo Search Marketing (formerly Overture), says a new outside service provider can also help to improve the company`s digital advertising return on investment. "For every dollar we spend on a search engine marketing campaign we expect an ROI of at least $3," Lituchy says. "A new outside service provider will be expected to help us meet and exceed that target."

Delightful Deliveries is also looking to select a new technology provider for its customer relationship management program and so far has held discussions with RightNow Technologies, Salesforce.com, NetSuite and a few other companies. A decision on a new search engine marketing firm and a CRM provider will be made in about a month. "We are making a lot of infrastructure improvements going into the holiday season," Lituchy says.

Delightful Deliveries is also expanding its server network from two machines to five machines beginning next month, Lituchy says.
