REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. and LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., October 23, 2002 - (http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?1492019) UCCnet, a tax-exempt, neutral organization that provides item registry and data synchronization for electronic commerce, announced Oracle Corporation has become a member of the "Partners In Sync" Alliance Program. Upon certification as an Alliance Partner, Oracle9i Application Server will enable retailers and their suppliers to connect to UCCnet`s Foundation Services and utilize current, accurate product data in communicating with trading partners.

As the consumer goods industry moves to standardize on UCCnet, UCCnet compliant systems become a critical tool for retailers and their suppliers to control supply chain costs and improve the efficiency of their trading partnerships. Partners In Sync enables alliance partners to provide integrated, collaborative commerce solutions to the expanding UCCnet community. The program certifies partners to provide best-in-class knowledge, resources and tools that enable UCCnet subscribers to implement data synchronization quickly, efficiently and cost effectively.

"Oracle is pleased to join UCCnet`s efforts to create an open cost-effective community for information exchange among trading partners in the consumer packaged goods industry," said Phil Friedman, vice president of consumer products, Oracle. "Oracle`s collaboration with UCCnet will help increase the business benefit Oracle customers that subscribe to UCCnet by providing support for integrating applications and coordinating workflow, processes and messages for item, party or location information."

"The Oracle strategy for collaborative commerce and B2B integration parallels UCCnet`s initiatives to provide a framework for the rapid expansion of the UCCnet trading community," said Mark Monaghan, director, Solution Partner Relations, UCCnet. "UCCnet Partners In Sync, such as Oracle, greatly further our goal to create a platform for shared, common product information, allowing manufacturers and retailers to focus on their core business of selling consumer goods."

UCCnet`s item registry and data synchronization services provide an open repository for item, location and trading partner capabilities and enable suppliers to communicate new or changed product data, ensuring that all trading partners are using identical, accurate and standardized item information. UCCnet users are able to considerably reduce errant purchase orders, returned shipments, reductions, logistics systems errors and associated costs throughout the supply chain. UCCnet services help retailers ensure they have the right products at the right retail locations at the right time, and enable suppliers to decrease deductions and improve speed to market for new products.
