Dallas, Texas - October 28, 2002 - The viaLink Company (OTCBB: VLNK) said
today that Perfection Bakeries, based in Ft. Wayne, Ind. and well-know for
its Aunt Millie`s Hearth Bread brand, is expanding its use of viaLink`s
services. With the renewal of its agreement with viaLink, Perfection will
expand its use of sbtLinkSM, viaLink`s scan based trading (SBT) service, and
syncLink*, viaLink`s data synchronization service, to implement connections
with retailers who have recently joined the viaLink trading community.

SBT is a next generation supply chain management process that uses
point-of-sale (POS) scan data to drive settlement, replenishment and
promotion between retailers and suppliers. viaLink`s sbtLink service was
used as the foundational technology for a Grocery Manufacturer`s of America
(GMA) pilot study in which participants experienced sales growth increases
of 3-4 percent, error-free invoicing and payment, and significant
operational savings for both suppliers and retailers.
