Egghead.com starts selling clearance goods through FairMarket
Woburn, MA-based FairMarket Inc. has signed up technology retailer
Egghead.com, Menlo Park, CA, to sell clearance goods online. FairMarket
provides e-business selling and marketing solutions incorporating dynamic
pricing technology. Egghead says it chose FairMarket because of its
customized dynamic pricing solution and its ability to fully integrate with
Egghead.com’s inventory management systems.
In addition to the core technology platform, FairMarket provides Egghead.com
with integration services by XML-based automation tools. These APIs link
directly to Egghead.com’s web commerce platform, inventory management and
order management systems. For example, on the front end, FairMarket’s
integration tools ensure a seamless shopping experience by allowing the
buyer to maintain a common account between the Egghead.com-powered and
FairMarket-powered web sites.
FairMarket reports that it also enables Egghead.com to automatically allocate and upload inventory for the auction, check the status of inventory as it is purchased and send customer purchase information directly into Egghead.com’s
fulfillment processing systems.
