Brooks Brothers boosts site search sales 25% with new WebSideStory release
WebSideStory’s new Search 4.0 release, the first on-demand solution to automatically integrate site search and behavioral data, has boosted sales from site search by 25% at BrooksBrothers.com, an early user of the product, according to Lillian Posner, director of e-commerce at the company. “The automation and integration WebSideStory has achieved between its products significantly improves the effectiveness of our web site.”
The new on-demand site search functionality incorporates patent-pending technology called active ranking, which allows marketers to optimize site search results based on visitor metrics of their own choosing, such as conversion rate, entry pages, most requested pages and more. The product integrates with WebSideStory`s HitBox analytics solution. Search 4.0 also includes the added features of guided site navigation, a 10-fold increase in site search capacity so as to index more items, and automated shopping engine feeds and an automated Google sitemap feed.
As a result, marketers using the new integrated site search product can prioritize search results according to business rules that they can set themselves, with specific objectives targeting the acquisition, retention and conversion of their online customers. “Driving site search relevancy based on a full set of web analytics data is an important innovation in the market,” says Susan Aldrich, SVP at customer experience analyst firm Patricia Seybold Group.
