CDW posts a record first quarter for e-commerce
CDW Corp. is reporting record e-commerce revenue for the first quarter.
For Q1 2006 CDW reports that web sales increased 14.1% to a record $501 million from $438.9 million in the first quarter of 2005. Total sales were $1.59 billion for Q1 2006 compared with $1.47 billion in the first quarter of 2005, an increase of 7.7%.
"We delivered a solid first quarter performance as we continued to take market share, deliver profitable growth and maintain one of the strongest balance sheets in our industry, while returning $128 million to shareholders through share repurchases," says chairman and CEO John A. Edwardson. "We aligned our executive structure to support our growth strategies and launched the geographic realignment of our corporate sales organization."
CDW, No. 8 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, says the web represented 31.5% of all sales for the first quarter compared with 30% for Q1 2005.
