FairMarket chooses Akamai for photo downloads

FairMarket Inc., a company that provides dynamic pricing auction services for businesses online, has selected Akamai Technologies Inc. to accelerate response time and quality of web content. In particular, FairMarket’s shop-by-photo capability will benefit from the Akamai service as it will allow users to download photos faster because Akamai is able to store content from its clients web sites on 8,000 servers around the world. The closer the information is to the end user the faster it will download, rather than having to travel through the various networks over the Internet from the origin point to an end user.
