Drugstore.com registers a 6% sales surge in Q1 2006
Drugstore.com Inc. saw a 6% increase in sales for the first quarter ended April 2, 2006. The company reached sales of $104.1 million compared with $99.6 million during the same period the previous year.
Company executives say the sales boost was driven by the e-retailer’s highest-ever repeat order volume, surpassing one million for the first time in its history.
Drugstore.com, a web retailer of health, beauty, vision and pharmacy products, has served 7.5 million customers since its launch in 1999. This number includes 326,000 new customers in the first quarter of 2006.
The company is No. 28 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
