Talbots names a new operations executive
The Talbots Inc. has a new operations executive.
The retailer, No. 62 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, has appointed Philip H. Kowalczyk, currently president of the J. Jill Group Inc., as the chief operating officer. In his new role, Kowalczyk will be responsible for Talbots’ strategic planning, international operations, direct marketing, customer service and certain shared services such as information technology and fulfillment and distribution. He will also assist the Talbots during its strategic review of its brand positioning and growth initiatives.
Kowalczyk joined Talbots in 2004 as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. He previously was a managing director at Kurt Salmon Associates. Talbots has retained New York-based executive recruiter Kirk Palmer & Associates Inc. to manage the search for a new J. Jill top executive. Talbots acquired in 2006.
