Online wireless seller InPhonic hires a Best Buy exec as its new COO
InPhonic Inc., an online seller of wireless devices and services, has named former Best Buy and CompUSA executive Brian J. Curran as chief operating officer. Curran most recently was Best Buy’s vice president of customer centricity, retail customer experience and customer care. He was responsible for the fulfillment and customer service operations of Best Buy’s 100 million annual customer service phone calls. He was also instrumental in managing the launch of BestBuy.com.
Before Best Buy, Curran was vice president at CompUSA overseeing sales and vertical market segments, including a 1,000-plus member call center and managing over 200 sales offices nationwide with annual sales of $1.7 billion.
Curran will report to InPhonic’s chairman and CEO David A. Steinberg, and will lead information technology, credit & activations, and wireless activation & services operations.
“Brian will spearhead a number of key InPhonic initiatives already underway to improve customer experience and operational efficiencies across the organization,” Steinberg said.
